Requesting partnership towards National Children’s Day-November2020

 National Children’s Day, which is the first Saturday in November each year, will NOT be celebrated this year as we have been celebrating it for the past seven years, due to COVID 19. This year we are giving away vouchers to the value of R200 each, to the children which they can use for the Stationery, Clothes, Toys, Toiletries, and Luxuries. Please help us to make this a reality. We will give out the vouchers during the month of November 2020, delivering it to their homes.

 Since 2013 we, as an organization have celebrated National Children’s Day in Eldorado Park. This is a day where children are reminded that they are valuable and loved by GOD and their community. Children are encouraged to play and just enjoy being children, knowing their responsibilities and rights. They receive something to eat and drink. There are jumping castles, horse riding, a petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts, a talent show, workshops on how to do things like planting, recycling and so much more. This is all for free. Last year, 2019 there were more than 1700 people at the event, we prepared for 2000 children which cost R100000.00, some of the things are sponsored and there is no cost involved. This year we are planning for 5000 children which will cost R1000 000.00 for the vouchers alone.

Looking at Wikepedia we found that though this day is celebrated around the world and the South African government declared the first Saturday in November as National Children’s Day. We have not seen anything that is being planned for this day as yet and therefore would like you to participate with us in giving vouchers to the children. Remember, as we are planting seeds of hope in the lives of children, we are investing in our own future.  

We have partnered with a number of Non-Profit Organizations that will help us distribute the vouchers to each child on our database. They are the following: Blessed To Be A Blessing, Ithemba Lomphakhati, Rainbow Day Care, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Dignity Campaign, Operation Hope Child, Sizabantwana, KD Golden Age Club, Children’s Legacy Foundation, AS-U-R Food Gardens, Sizwa Bantwana, and Size Feeds.

 We know this is short notice but trust you will make the decision to partner with us and reach out to the children in our communities. The first time this idea was shared with our contacts three ladies of our regular donors responded immediately, two of these ladies are pensioners. They are seeing the value of what we do in our communities.

 One child told us that being at National Children’s Day is the one place he feels so loved. Another said this the only thing he looks forward to each year. We trust that with the absence of all the activities this year may this small token of an R200 voucher, remind our children how dear they are to us and how they should value themselves even more. They should love themselves and love others, giving honor and respect to others as it is done to them.
